Hell Mode is coming back. The official website for the anime of writer Hamuo and illustrator Mo’s light novel series announced that the show is getting a third season covering the “S-Kyū Dungeon Kōryaku-hen” (“S-Rank Dungeon Conquest Arc”), and released a new visual with the news.
The announcement arrived just as the second season finished: its final episode aired on Friday.

No premiere date, episode count or streaming detail for the third season has been announced yet. The full title of the series is Hell Mode – The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World with Garbage Balancing (Hell Mode – Yarikomi Suki no Gamer wa Hai Settei no Isekai de Musō Suru).
Where the anime has aired
The series debuted on Tokyo MX on July 3 at 25:00 (effectively July 4 at 1:00 a.m.) and also runs on MBS, BS NTV and AT-X. HIDIVE is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan. The first season began on television on January 9 at 25:05 (effectively January 10 at 1:05 a.m.), later airing on MBS and, on January 11, on BS NTV. Streaming began on ABEMA and d Anime Store on January 9 at 25:35, followed by U-NEXT and Anime Hōdai on January 12. HIDIVE streamed the first season as it aired and is also carrying an English dub.
On the publishing side, Hamuo launched the story on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” website in November 2019, and it is still ongoing. Earth Star Entertainment began publishing the series in print in July 2020, and Tetta launched an ongoing manga version on Comic Earth Star in October 2020.
Why it matters
Getting a third season confirmed before the second season’s finale has fully cooled is a strong signal for a series that is not one of the season’s headline titles. It also keeps the production on a predictable footing: Yokohama Animation Lab and the script and character-design leads are all staying, so the “S-Rank Dungeon Conquest Arc” should look and sound consistent with what viewers just watched.
The open questions are the ones the visual does not answer. There is no date, no episode count and no confirmation that HIDIVE will carry the new season outside Japan, though the platform has handled both previous seasons. Arc-based titles like this one also tend to define how much source material gets adapted per season, and an “S-Rank Dungeon” arc suggests a step up in scale from the dungeon and guild material covered so far.
