Crunchyroll Manga App Expands to the U.K., Ireland, South Asia and ANZ

Crunchyroll Manga is now live in a dozen more markets. Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini announced the expansion during his closing remarks at the company’s first Crunchyroll Anime Future Forum in New York.

Where it is available now

Fans in the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand can subscribe now, along with readers in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The app runs on iOS, Android and the web, and the launch titles are in localized English.

It is the first time the manga side of Crunchyroll has moved beyond the United States and Canada, where the separate ad-free app arrived in October 2025.

What is in the library

More than 250 titles from J-Novel Club, Square Enix and Yen Press are available at launch. The starting line-up includes The Apothecary Diaries, My Dress-Up Darling, Bocchi the Rock!, Bungo Stray Dogs, Delicious in Dungeon, Lycoris Recoil, Sasaki and Miyano, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill and KonoSuba.

More titles and publishers will follow, including action series from Viz Media. Crunchyroll says the library has grown past 450 titles since the U.S. and Canada launch, drawn from partners such as AlphaPolis, Kodansha, Shueisha and Titan Manga. The service runs on technology from Link-U Group, a Japanese digital manga developer that Crunchyroll recently took a small stake in.

How you pay for it

Crunchyroll Manga is a premium add-on to the main streaming subscription. In some countries it is bundled as a member benefit with an Ultimate Fan membership, which means one payment covers streaming and manga. India works differently: there the manga service is only available through Ultimate Fan rather than as a separate add-on. Pricing varies by country.

A PlayStation 5 anime hub is coming

The same event produced another announcement. Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Hideaki Nishino said a dedicated anime space is coming to the PlayStation 5 home screen next spring. It will collect anime, anime games and anime-inspired games in one place and offer quick access to Crunchyroll.

Purini framed the work as meeting fans where they already are. He pointed to the existing Crunchyroll membership on PlayStation and to the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima: Legends anime as signs that the two audiences overlap.

Not every platform is gaining a Crunchyroll app. The main Crunchyroll app leaves the Nintendo Switch on October 30. It stays available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, on mobile, on smart TVs and media players, and in browsers.

Why it matters

Crunchyroll has been turning itself into a one-stop shop for anime fans, and manga was the missing piece. Reading a series and then streaming its adaptation inside the same subscription is a real convenience, and it gives the company a reason to keep readers paying between seasons. The move lines up with the broader push behind the new Crunchyroll Storyworks production division.

The expansion also puts the app up against digital manga services that already have footholds in those markets, such as K Manga. Whether readers switch will come down to catalogue depth and price, which is why the Viz Media titles and the wider publisher list are worth watching over the coming months.
