Kenshi Yonezu Announces 2026-2027 World Tour ‘Ghost’

Kenshi Yonezu is going on a world tour. Sony Music announced Thursday that the singer-songwriter will play internationally in early 2027 under the banner “KENSHI YONEZU 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR / GHOST.”

Cities, venues and ticket details were not part of the announcement. What we have is the title and the window, which usually means the routing is still being finalized and will be revealed region by region.

The name “GHOST” has not been explained, and Sony did not attach it to a specific album or single. Expect that thread to get pulled once dates start landing.

Why an anime site is covering this

Yonezu started out as Vocaloid producer Hachi in 2009, and he illustrated the music videos for his own songs. He put out two albums under that name before the third, diorama in 2012, where he sang in his own voice and credited himself as Kenshi Yonezu. Since then he has written and performed theme songs for a list that reads like a survey of recent anime and games: The Boy and the Heron, My Hero Academia, Chainsaw Man, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, Fireworks, Should We See it from the Side or the Bottom?, Children of the Sea, March comes in like a lion, Final Fantasy XVI, and the live-action 5 Centimeters per Second, Shin Ultraman and Look Back films. On Look Back he is credited as “Shark Kick Guitar.”

That catalogue is the reason a Yonezu concert announcement lands here at all. His relationship with anime audiences is specific and long running. For plenty of international listeners, the first Yonezu song they ever heard arrived attached to a show, and that is the audience a world tour is selling to.

What a world tour means for the songs

Here is the practical read: a lot of Yonezu’s most recognizable material is attached to animated properties, and those properties are what made him huge outside Japan in the first place. A world tour is, in effect, a tour of anime theme songs in markets where the shows did the heavy lifting. That is a different proposition from a typical J-pop arena run, and it is probably why the announcement leads with the title and the year rather than a city list.

It also lands in a busy stretch for anime-adjacent touring. Attack on Titan: The Musical kicks off its world tour in Singapore in April 2027, and the Spirited Away stage play is taking its own tour on the road with newly announced cast and 2027 dates. Promoters have clearly worked out that anime audiences will travel for a live event.

Watch the official channels for dates. Given how quickly Yonezu’s arena shows move in Japan, an early-2027 window means ticket information will not sit around once it drops.
