The Magic: The Gathering manga Destroy All Humans. They Can’t Be Regenerated. is coming back for one more run. The November issue of Kadokawa’s Monthly Shōnen Ace announced that Katsura Ise and Takuma Yokota will launch a new miniseries beginning in the December issue on October 26.

A short and irregular run
Ise confirmed on X that the new manga will be a short limited series running for four chapters, published irregularly in the magazine. That is a small final bite rather than a full revival, and the “Timeshift” subtitle points to a side story or alternate angle rather than a direct continuation.
It caps a series that has already ended once. The main manga finished serialization in April 2025, and Kadokawa shipped the 18th and final collected volume in June 2025, so readers who followed it to the end already have a complete story. The four new chapters are a bonus.
What the manga is
The series is based on the Magic: The Gathering trading card game, made with cooperation credited to Wizards of the Coast. Viz Media releases it in English and describes the premise: it is the nineties at Tokiwagi Middle School, and for gamers like Hajime Kano, nothing is the same after Magic: The Gathering arrives.
Hajime keeps coming in second behind the popular honor student Emi Sawatari in everything he does. Then a trip to a new game store he has heard about turns their rivalry in an unexpected direction. The manga sits at the moment the card game began reshaping tabletop gaming for a generation.
It started as a one-shot in Monthly Shōnen Ace in August 2018 before beginning serialization in the magazine in November 2018. Over its run it became a well-regarded nostalgia piece, leaning on period detail and the specific culture of card shops and school rivalries rather than on the game’s fantasy lore.
Why it matters
Licensed tie-in manga usually end quietly. A four-chapter return announced in the same magazine that launched the series is a sign the title retains a readership worth serving, and Viz’s ongoing English release gives those chapters a clear home for Western readers if they are licensed too.
It also says something about how publishers are treating completed series: short, focused revivals let a creator revisit a world without committing to another multi-year run. For fans, the practical takeaway is simple — four chapters, starting October 26, spaced out across future issues of Monthly Shōnen Ace.
The announcement lands in a busy period for Kadokawa’s manga slate. It follows the publisher’s Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen manga with Marvel, which also builds on an established franchise, and a run of revival projects like Despera, the stalled anime from Lain’s creators, being revived as a manga in 2027.
