Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform will add Digimon Eggs, a new manga by Ayumu Minato, as a simulpub title on October 2. The Digimon franchise announced the move on X, and the same day the series launches in Shueisha’s Saikyō Jump magazine in Japan.
Simulpub means the English chapters on MANGA Plus arrive at the same time as the Japanese release, instead of trailing months behind in collected volumes. Simplified Chinese and Korean versions of Digimon Eggs will also debut on the Digimon Web website, so the series gets a same-day, multi-language rollout across three official channels.
What the announcement confirms — and what it doesn’t
The franchise has confirmed the title, the creator, the platforms and the date. It has not yet outlined the premise, the setting or which Digimon will appear. For now, Digimon Eggs is a manga debut with a release plan attached rather than a fully explained story.
That is worth keeping in mind before the first chapter lands: the announcement is about availability, not about content. We will know what the series actually is on October 2.
A series launching in a familiar Shueisha home
Saikyō Jump is a Shueisha magazine aimed at a younger readership, and it has been a regular home for Digimon manga over the years. MANGA Plus, Shueisha’s free official app and website, has increasingly used day-one simulpub releases to put Japanese magazine chapters in front of an international audience without the usual wait.
Pairing an Saikyō Jump launch with a MANGA Plus simulpub is the pattern Shueisha has leaned on for new titles with global reach, and Digimon is exactly that. The franchise has been adapted into manga many times across its history, with Tenya Yabuno’s Digimon V-Tamer 01 among the best-known examples, so a new series is a familiar move rather than a departure.
The anime side of the franchise
The manga news arrives with the Digimon anime at a transition point. The franchise announced in August that a new anime project will broadcast next year. DIGIMON BEATBREAK, the television anime that debuted on Fuji TV and other channels in October 2025, ended on Sunday. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired and is also streaming an English dub.
So Digimon is closing one television chapter and opening a new manga one in the same week. That overlap is not unusual for a franchise this size, but it does mean fans have something to follow on both fronts right now.
Why it matters
A same-day simulpub is a small piece of news with a practical payoff. Readers outside Japan get the new Digimon manga legally and immediately, in English plus two other languages, rather than waiting for a license announcement that might never come. For a children’s and family franchise, that kind of instant access matters more than a prestige launch — it keeps a global audience in step with the Japanese release.
