HIDIVE Adds a Nia Liston Dub on November 18 and Loses Ten Series This Month

HIDIVE has two pieces of November news that matter to subscribers. The English dub of Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden starts November 18, with new episodes going up on Wednesdays. Ten other series are leaving the platform before the month ends, six of them on November 30.

The dub announcement came on Tuesday. The anime premiered October 6 on Tokyo MX, BS NTV and MBS, and it is running for two consecutive cours, so the English version will trail the subtitled release by roughly six weeks and keep going into next year.

What Nia Liston is

The premise comes from Umikaze Minamino’s light novels. A legendary warrior dies undefeated on her sickbed, furious that no opponent ever managed to kill her, and wakes up in the body of Nia Liston, a frail child. She now has to build a body capable of fighting before she can do anything else. The comedy and the fights both come from the gap between a veteran’s instincts and a child’s physique.

Minamino put the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō site in 2019 and finished it there in 2021. Hobby Japan began publishing the print editions in September 2022 with illustrations by Jishaku, and Katana Canata took over illustration duties from the third volume in 2023, with the anime crediting both for the original character designs. The 12th volume shipped October 1. Kabuto Kodai’s manga adaptation has been running on Square Enix’s Manga UP! since 2022, and the ninth volume came out October 7. J-Novel Club releases the novels in English digitally, and Manga UP! Global handles the manga.

Everything leaving HIDIVE in November

Blue Drop leaves November 16. Chihayafuru Season 3 leaves November 22. Tears to Tiara leaves November 23. Then on November 30, HIDIVE drops Amagami SS and SS+, Heavy Metal L-Gaim, Kill Me Baby, Panzer World Galient, Aragne: Sign of Vermillion, and both Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya films, The Vow in the Snow and Prisma-Phantasm.

Two of those are worth flagging. Chihayafuru Season 3 is the odd one out, since the first two seasons are not on the list, which leaves the third season unreachable on HIDIVE while the earlier ones stay up. That is an awkward way to run a karuta rewatch.

The Amagami removal takes both the original and the SS+ sequel at once, which wipes the whole franchise from the service in a single day. For a visual novel adaptation with an unusual structure, six separate arcs across two seasons, that is the kind of thing that becomes hard to find afterward.

Licensing expiries are routine and often temporary. Titles come back when a deal renews, and the Prisma Illya films have moved between services before. But the safe assumption is that a series on this list is gone after its date until HIDIVE says otherwise.

What to do about it

If you are midway through anything above, the next three weeks are the window. Chihayafuru Season 3 has the shortest notice of the major titles at eleven days.

HIDIVE has not announced what replaces the departing slots. The service has been adding short-form spin-offs alongside its main simulcasts, including the 12-episode Dark Summoner omake series that arrives November 6.
