Hiroshi Fukuda has a new series coming. The 108th issue of Nihonbungeisha’s Comic Heaven announced on Friday that Koko wa Kagari no Territory (Here is Kagari’s Territory) starts in the magazine’s next issue on November 30.
That is the whole announcement. No genre tag, no page count, no artist change. A teaser line went with it: “The biggest mystery for me now is the girl who …. me.” Four dots where a verb should be is a deliberate move, and it hints at identity, a missing word, and a girl standing in the middle of both.
Magazines tease like this when they want readers to buy the issue instead of reading a summary online. It works, up to a point. It also means the first chapter will be doing the explaining on its own.
Who Hiroshi Fukuda is
Fukuda is best known right now for Rock is a Lady’s Modesty, which he launched in Hakusensha’s Young Animal in October 2022. The first compiled volume followed in April 2023 and the eighth arrived in August 2025. The TV anime premiered in April 2025 on TBS and 27 affiliate channels, with HIDIVE streaming it as it aired and later adding an English dub.
That launch was four years ago, so Koko wa Kagari no Territory is his first new serial since the one that made his name outside Japan.
Before that he drew Mushibugyō, which began in Shogakukan’s Shōnen Sunday Super in 2009 and grew into Jōjū Senjin!! Mushibugyō in Weekly Shōnen Sunday from 2011 to 2017, running 32 volumes. That version became a 26-episode TV anime from Seven Arcs Pictures on TV Tokyo in 2013, with three OVA episodes following in 2014 and 2015. He also worked on Gofun-go no Sekai. An artist with one animated hit already gets a different kind of announcement than a newcomer, and publishers know it.
Why the move to Comic Heaven matters
Young Animal is a Hakusensha magazine with an established seinen readership and a track record of adaptations. Comic Heaven is smaller, published by Nihonbungeisha, the company behind Weekly Manga Goraku, and has been running since 2012. Signing Fukuda is a real get for a magazine that competes on the strength of individual creators rather than volume.
My guess is the opening chapter gets a color page at minimum. Magazines tend not to launch a name like this quietly, and November 30 gives them an issue to build around.
What is still unknown
Length, schedule, and whether the series is a limited run or an open one are all unconfirmed. That is normal for a launch tease in a magazine that reveals its lineup issue by issue, and it means readers have a month of guessing ahead.
English release is the other open question. Rock is a Lady’s Modesty reached international viewers through its anime on HIDIVE, which is how most readers outside Japan met his work. Whether the new series gets picked up is anyone’s call.
Until then, the safest read on this announcement is that Fukuda is staying in the register that worked for him: a mystery built around a girl, teased with a gap in the sentence.
The timing is crowded, too. November has Haruko Ichikawa’s Cosmic Mimimi on the 25th and Eito Chida’s Hoshibarai no Chidori on the 20th, and now a Fukuda launch at the end of the month.
