Laid-Back Camp returns in April 2027. The anime’s official website posted the main trailer and a new key visual on Friday, and both confirm the spring premiere that had gone unannounced until now.
The visual puts the full group at a campsite: Nadeshiko, Rin and the rest of the Outdoor Activities Club, plus the two new students, Ema and Mei. Eight characters in one frame, which tells you the fourth season is treating the first-years as regulars rather than guests.
What the new trailer shows
The trailer runs on all three of the season’s songs. Asaka performs the opening theme, “Brand New.” Eri Sasaki handles the ending with “Happa no Tegami” (Leaf Letter). Kiminone, the band behind the series theme, contributes “Tonari ni Ireba.”
The official site describes the sequence: the opening covers Nadeshiko and the club, now a year older, cooking up plans to recruit new members. The ending follows Ema and Mei through their first months of high school. The last stretch, set to the series theme, is the part everyone comes for — tents, campfires, food.
A new studio takes over
The bigger change sits in the staff list. Shin Tosaka, who directed the third season, is back in the director’s chair, but the animation moves to FuRyu Pictures. 8-Bit handled the previous season, so the show is changing studios for the first time in its run.
Ryūta Ura takes over character design from Hisanori Hashimoto. Ura worked as a key animator on Demon Slayer: Mugen Train and the Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel films. Pierre Sugiura is writing the series scripts again, Akiyuki Tateyama returns as composer, and Takeshi Takadera is back as sound director.
The website also listed a long block of production staff: Kōichi Motomura on cooking design, Masateru Inada on prop design, Nanako Okazaki as color key artist, Masatoshi Muto as art director, with Studio Jack on background art. Yūta Katayama is the compositing director of photography, Kazuto Furuya directs CG, and Akinori Mishima (Mishima Editing Room) handles offline editing. MFIVE produces the music, HALF H·P STUDIO handles sound production, and Sōta Machiguchi is animation producer.
Cooking design, for anyone who has watched this show, is not a decorative credit. Food is half the point of Laid-Back Camp. The series has always treated a pot of instant ramen on a portable stove with the same care other anime give to fight choreography, and a dedicated staffer for it suggests the new team understands what it inherited.
The cast is unchanged
Yumiri Hanamori plays Nadeshiko Kagamihara, Nao Tōyama is Rin Shima, Sayuri Hara is Chiaki Ōgaki, and Aki Toyosaki is Aoi Inuyama. Rie Takahashi returns as Ena Saitō, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Ayano Toki, Maria Sashide as Ema Mizunami, and Kokoa Amano as Mei Nakatsugawa. Akio Ōtsuka narrates.
The manga behind it
Afro’s manga started in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Forward in 2015 and moved to the publisher’s Comic Fuz site in 2019. Yen Press has released it in English since March 2018. The anime arrived in January 2018 as a 12-episode season, followed by a second season in January 2021 and a film in July 2022. A live-action series ran in January 2019. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired and produced English dubs.
There are games too, and a lot of them. MAGES made Yurucamp Have a Nice Day! for PlayStation 4 and Switch in November 2022. Gemdrops released two VR titles, Lake Motosu in March 2021 and Fumoto Campsite in April 2022. Laid-Back Camp All-in-one!! launched worldwide in June 2023, and Cozy Trail Games’ Yurukyan Puzzle Camp followed in July 2024.
One more date for the calendar
The official site also has a Laid-Back Camp Music Festival 2027 set for June 26, 2027 at the Kasukabe Civic Cultural Hall in Saitama. Yumiri Hanamori, Nao Tōyama and composer Akiyuki Tateyama are listed, with the Laid-Back Camp acoustic band. A priority ticket application slip goes into the third season’s Blu-ray box.
Why it matters
A studio switch this late in a series is worth flagging. FuRyu Pictures inherits a show built on stillness, wide landscapes and long quiet scenes, which is not the easiest material for a team working together for the first time. The trailer is the first real evidence of how that is going. April 2027 is still months out, so there is room for the look to settle before broadcast.
What is confirmed: April 2027, FuRyu Pictures, Tosaka directing, and the original main cast. What is not: an exact premiere date, an episode count, or a streaming home outside Japan. Crunchyroll has carried every previous season, but nothing has been announced for this one. Treat specific dates you see elsewhere as unconfirmed until the official site posts them.
Spring 2027 is getting crowded. The Dangers in My Heart Season 3 also lands that month, and Walking Home with You has an April 2027 slot of its own. Manga adaptations with established fanbases are stacking up fast.
