One-Punch Man’s third season is getting its second half, and now it has a date. Bandai Namco Filmworks released a new trailer confirming that the second cours of season 3 will premiere in January 2027. Viz Media is streaming an English-subtitled version of the same video.
The trailer was not the only thing to come out of the reveal. The anime’s official website posted a new key visual, and JAM Project was confirmed to return for the opening theme. The song is called “Never Done – SUPREME POWER VS ULTIMATE FEAR -,” a title that suits a series about a hero who ends most fights with a single punch.
The series adapts the manga by ONE and Yūsuke Murata, and the anime has followed it across three seasons since 2015. Bandai Namco Filmworks posted the trailer on its YouTube channel, and Viz Media put out its own subtitled version.
Who is making the second cours
J.C. Staff is back for the second half, the same studio behind season 2 and the first part of season 3. Madhouse handled the first season, which aired from October to December 2015. The second season opened with a TV special in April 2019, with the first proper episode arriving a week later.
Shinpei Nagai directs at J.C. Staff, and Tomohiro Suzuki returns to oversee the series scripts. Chikashi Kubota is also back on character design, this time alongside Shinjiro Kuroda and Ryōsuke Shirakawa. Most of the technical crew carries over: Masahiro Gotō as editor, Yoshikazu Iwanami as sound director and Makoto Miyazaki as composer. Two roles changed hands. Sakura Murakami is now the art director after working on background art for season 2, and Yuki Hirose has taken over photography from Yoshio Ōkouchi.
What the first cours did musically
JAM Project and BABYMETAL performed the opening theme “Get No Satisfied!” for the first part of season 3. Makoto Furukawa sang the ending, “Soko ni Aru Akari,” translated as “The Light, That’s There.” Bringing JAM Project back for the second cours keeps the show’s sound consistent between the two halves.
Season 3 opened with a recap episode on October 5, 2025. The anime’s 25th overall episode, which was also the first proper episode of season 3, aired a week later.
Where to watch
Outside Japan, One-Punch Man streams on Hulu in the United States, Disney+ in Canada and Netflix in Latin America, Australia and New Zealand. Crunchyroll also carries it in Latin America and Oceania.
Why it matters
A split season lives or dies on how cleanly the two halves connect. One-Punch Man season 3 is one long arc cut in two, so the January start is less a new season and more the second act finally arriving. The upside of the wait is a stable production team: the same director, the same script supervisor and the same composer across both parts, with only photography and art direction handed to new people.
January 2027 is filling up quickly. For the shows already dated, see our Fall 2026 anime season guide, and note that J.C. Staff also has Teenage Mercenary lined up for 2027.
