Crunchyroll has announced the English dub cast and crew for the Overgeared anime, confirming that the series will get a same-day English dub when it launches.
The anime is being released under the title Tempal: Item no Chikara (Tempal ~The Power of Items~), and adapts the Korean webtoon Overgeared from studio REDICE STUDIO. The announcement naming the English voice cast arrived on Friday.

Dub crew
The dub is produced at Crunchyroll Studio, with Justin Cook, Michael Harcourt and Nathanael Harrison as producers and Zach Bolton as producer. Tyler Walker is adaptation supervisor, Jared Smith handled adaptation, and Emily Fajardo is voice director. Tara A. Williams and Brittni Hurley handled talent coordination. Gino Palencia and Brandon Peters are engineering managers, Tina Son is the engineer, with Devin Foster, Stevie Rae Krieger and Neal Malley as assistant engineers, and Rickey Watkins mixing.
Japanese production and premiere
Ayako Kōno, who directed both Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- films (Aria of a Starless Night and Scherzo of Deep Night), is directing at J.C. Staff, with EGG FIRM producing. Kenta Ihara (Saga of Tanya the Evil, Uncle From Another World, Blue Miburo) is on series scripts. Yoshikazu Iwanami is sound director, Yoshiaki Fujisawa is composing the music, and Pony Canyon is credited for music production. Rock band Re:name performs the opening theme “SATISFY,” and virtual singer TAO performs the ending theme “Ray of Emotion.”
The anime premieres on Tokyo MX and BS11 on October 2 at 11:30 p.m. (10:30 a.m. EDT), with Crunchyroll streaming it. The series was also part of Crunchyroll’s “Anime Nights” theatrical programme on September 21, which screens anime with Japanese audio and English subtitles in U.S. and Canadian cinemas.

Where the story comes from
Overgeared is based on a web novel by Sae Nal Park. Dong Wook Lee writes the webtoon, and Team Argo handles the art. Yen Press publishes it in English under its Ize Press label, which describes the premise like this:
Youngwoo Shin is a deadbeat in real life, working odd jobs to barely pay off his loans. But when he logs in to the massively popular VR game Satisfy, Youngwoo becomes Grid the Warrior — who is also painfully mediocre. Everything changes when he stumbles across a tome containing the lost knowledge of a legendary blacksmith. The catch is, using it resets all his levels.
Yen Press released the 11th volume of the webtoon on August 18. It is also available digitally on Tapas, and both Tapas and WuxiaWorld are releasing the original web novel in English.
Why it matters
A same-day English dub is one of the clearest signs a streamer is treating a title as a priority rather than a catalogue addition. For a Korean webtoon adaptation arriving in a crowded autumn slate, launching the dub alongside the subtitled version gives the show a much better shot at holding an English-language audience from episode one, instead of losing viewers who wait for a dub.
