The anime of Muchimaro’s four-panel manga Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! has a streaming home and a date. Aniplex USA began streaming an English-subtitled main trailer on Tuesday, and confirmed in the process that the series will launch on the OceanVeil platform on Saturday, October 3.
Trailer, staff, and studio
The main trailer came with English subtitles via Aniplex USA, which handles the title on the Japanese side of the production. Naoyuki Tatsuwa is directing the anime at Passione, with Ryo Imamura designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. Masahiro Yokotani is overseeing and writing the series scripts.
Both names on the staff reassure on quality. Tatsuwa’s credits include Ōmuro-ke, Gourmet Girl Graffiti, Nisekoi, and Promise of Wizard, while Yokotani has written for Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Beelzebub, and The Devil Is a Part-Timer! — a series-scripting resumé that leans toward comedy with sharp dialogue, which fits the source material.
Theme songs
Sangatsu no Phantasia performs the opening theme, “Kaze no Naka wa Hashirukkya Inai,” and Akari Nanawo performs the ending theme, “Pi.” Sangatsu no Phantasia is a regular presence in recent comedy and slice-of-life openings, and Akari Nanawo has become a frequent choice for quirky, upbeat endings, so the pair matches the tone the trailer sets.
The manga behind the anime
Muchimaro launched the manga in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2022. Kodansha shipped the 13th compiled volume on August 17. Seven Seas publishes the series in English, shipping the first volume on September 8 with the second due on December 8, and K MANGA also publishes it in English digitally.
The series built a reputation before the anime was announced. It received an animated advertisement in July 2024, and it won in the print category of the ninth Next Manga Awards (Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishō) in 2023 — an award that has become a reliable predictor of which young titles get picked up for adaptation.
Where to watch and when
OceanVeil’s stream starts on October 3. OceanVeil is the anime streaming platform run by WWWave Corporation, and it has been picking up a mix of titles that other services pass on — including some that would otherwise be hard to find legally outside Japan. The Japanese broadcast schedule and other territory details are separate from the OceanVeil date, so the October 3 launch should be treated as the platform’s own streaming start rather than a global simulcast time for every region.

Streaming availability is often the deciding factor in whether a comedy like this finds an audience overseas. Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! is a gag-driven four-panel series, which means it lives on quick jokes and character chemistry rather than a plot you need episode guides for — exactly the kind of title that spreads through clips and word of mouth if people can actually watch it.
An OceanVeil launch rather than a mainstream simulcast means the series will have a smaller initial reach, but it also means it is available from day one rather than sitting in licensing limbo. For a manga that already has 13 volumes and an award on its shelf, having a legal overseas home at launch is the more important outcome.
