Seven Seas Licenses Living With My New Cat, Zukyun x Bakyun and More Manga

Seven Seas Entertainment announced a batch of new licenses on Wednesday. The manga picks are the ones likely to draw attention: a full-color cat story, a boys’ love romance, and an assassin comedy. Two light novels and a set of audiobook editions came along with them.

The announcements arrived in a single round of press releases, with release dates spread from November 2026 into September 2027.

The manga

Living With My New Cat is a full-color manga by Fujihito, due in August 2027. It is a sequel to Living With My Old Cat, and it keeps the same subject: the quiet adjustment that follows losing a pet, and the way a new rescue can shift a household again. The summary describes a rescue tortie and the different-but-similar rhythm of daily life with a new kitten.

Twinkling Secrets Told Us Tonight Is the Night comes from NOJIRO GURI and also arrives in August 2027. It is a boys’ love story about Alloy, a noble young man whose magic makes him his nation’s lifeline, and Mikado, who has stayed at his side since childhood. In public they read as opposites. In private, the summary says, the connection is immediate.

Zukyun x Bakyun is by Teito Yuzuriha and is set for September 2027. Despite the playful name, it follows Dan and Lyla, two elite assassins who only ever dealt with each other on the job. When Dan confesses his feelings, both discover they have no training for romance.

That title has a second life in the works. Zukyun x Bakyun is also the source for a live-action feature film deal between Japan’s COMISMA and the UK’s Akili International, announced separately this week.

The novels and audiobooks

The two prose titles are The One-Eyed, One-Armed, One-Legged Sorcerer, from writer Suzusuke and illustrator Sumihei, arriving November 2026, and Record of a Reincarnated Chancellor: I Was Summoned by a Hopeless Demon Lord to Rebuild Her Army, from Panda Pudding and Hiyaori, set for February 2027.

Seven Seas also said it will produce audiobooks for When It Rains, It Pours, Reluctant Space Commander: From Death Wish to Galactic Hero!, and Al the Adventurer: That Magic Shouldn’t Work!, all of them light novel series already in the catalog.

Why it matters

Seven Seas is a mid-size publisher whose catalog leans on romance, fantasy and licensed light novels, and this batch fits that profile without breaking it. The dates stretch nearly a year out, so these are early announcements rather than titles landing next week.

The mix is the interesting part. A full-color sequel to an established pet manga, a boys’ love title, and an assassin romantic comedy cover three different reader groups at once, and the audiobook push shows the publisher treating its light novel backlist as a second product line rather than an afterthought.

Licensing news has been steady for the site this month. For comparison, see our coverage of how Viz Media licensed The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom, and of Yen Press’s 17-title pickup for 2026.

For readers, the practical takeaway is timing. Nothing here is immediate, and the finer format details, like print sizes and exact editions, have not been spelled out beyond what the announcements state. Expect firmer schedules closer to release.
