The television anime of My Sword Saint Master Is Too Cute to Live With! now has a teaser trailer, a full main cast and a January 2027 premiere. The promo came through the Deregula YouTube channel, the anime label run by WWWave Corporation.
The official Japanese title is Dōkyo Shiteiru Kensei no Onna Shishō ga Kawaisugite Mainichi Shiawase Desu. Production is split between the studios Wolfsbane and Lightbox.
The cast
The teaser names the main voice cast:
- Ai Kakuma as Liza Parsandra
- Seena Hoshiki as Eugene Dawson
- Azusa Tsujimori as Erin Toa
- Hitomi Ueda as Cordelia Dawson, and as the narrator
- Miyu Tomita as Fiona Rosso
- Minami Takahashi as Lumiere Theomere
- Tomoyo Takayanagi as Meris Eclipse
Staff and studio
Masayoshi Nishida directs. His credits include Princess Knight, Little Astro Boy and Makina-san’s a Love Bot?!. Yōhei Kashii, who wrote TenPuru and My One-Hit Kill Sister, handles series scripts. Ichirō Tanaka designs the characters, with Ayame Etō and Yusho Hayakawa as sub-character designers. Hayakawa is also the chief animation director. 12sound is composing the music.
The rest of the main staff covers sound direction, props and weapons, art, color, compositing and editing, with Kōhei Motokawa as animation producer and Nao Kawakami on both editing and production supervision. Kumiko Yoshikawa leads prop and weapon design, which tends to matter for a show where blades are the whole point.
What the story is
Eugene Dawson wants to get stronger, so he apprentices himself to the Sword Saint Liza Parsandra. On the battlefield she is feared. At home she is a disaster, prone to clumsiness and accidental intimacy that keeps knocking Eugene off task.
That is the joke, and the teaser leans into it: martial training undercut by domestic chaos. It is a familiar shape for a light-novel adaptation, but the pitch is specific enough to know exactly what it is selling.
The source material
Author Kennoji and illustrator R_ringo launched the manga in March 2024, and Kadokawa’s KadoComi has serialized it since. Two collected volumes are out in Japan. Seven Seas Entertainment will publish it in English through its Ghost Ship imprint starting in June 2027.
Kennoji is not a newcomer to adaptations. His other works include Drugstore in Another World: The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist, which got a television anime in July 2021, plus The Girl I Saved on the Train Turned Out to Be My Childhood Friend and Hazure Skill.
Why it matters
January 2027 is filling up fast with fantasy rom-coms, and this one lands in that pile with a strong cast and a studio pair rather than a single house. Two studios on a mid-size production usually means either a tight schedule or heavy outsourcing, and how the final episodes look will settle that question.
For readers of the manga, the interesting part is the gap. The English release only starts in June 2027, months after the anime airs, so most viewers outside Japan will meet the story through the show first.
