BanG Dream! It’s MyGo!!!!! // Ave Mujica Sequel Anime Premieres January 8, 2027

The BanG Dream! sequel series that carries both band names now has a date. A second teaser promotional video for BanG Dream! It's MyGo!!!!! // Ave Mujica debuted on October 25, 2026, and it confirms the anime premieres on January 8, 2027.

The show will air in NTV's "Friday Anime Night" programming block, on NTV and 29 affiliated channels across Japan. Its slot is 11:30 p.m. Japan time, or 9:30 a.m. Eastern.

What the sequel continues

The new series picks up the two bands that have driven the franchise's recent anime output. It follows the first BanG Dream! Ave Mujica television anime, which premiered in Japan on January 2, 2025 and streams on Crunchyroll. That series was itself a sequel to BanG Dream! It's MyGo!!!!!, so the January 2027 show is the third television entry in this particular chain of stories.

MyGo!!!!! arrived first, in June 2023, on Tokyo MX and the ABEMA streaming service. It launched with three episodes at once, a release pattern that has become common for band and idol series trying to build momentum fast. Crunchyroll carried it during the broadcast, and Muse Asia streamed it across its territories as well.

Between the television seasons, the franchise kept the story in theaters. MyGo!!!!! received two compilation films: Haru no Hidamari, Mayoi Neko (A Sunny Spot in Spring, A Stray Cat) opened on September 27, 2024, and the second, Utau, Bokura ni Nareru Uta (Sing, the Song That Can Define Us), followed on November 8, 2024. The Ave Mujica side then got its own theatrical release, BanG Dream! Ave Mujica prima aurora, which opened on October 16, 2026, about twelve weeks before the sequel's premiere.

A franchise that started in 2015

Bushiroad launched the BanG Dream! multimedia project in January 2015, built around voice actresses who perform as their characters' bands rather than only voicing them. The main television anime's first season ran 13 episodes from January 2017, and the third season premiered in January 2020.

The wider project includes the BanG Dream! FILM LIVE and BanG Dream! FILM LIVE 2nd Stage concert films, the two-part BanG Dream! Episode of Roselia films, and several web anime spinoffs. Nearly a decade in, the anime side has become a promotional engine for real concerts and CD releases as much as a story in its own right.

Why the January 8 date matters

January is one of the busiest premiere months in the anime calendar, and a Friday slot at 11:30 p.m. on a national network is a serious position. Band anime live or die on music sales and concert attendance, so a consistent weekly broadcast on NTV gives Bushiroad a longer promotional runway than a streaming-only launch would.

For overseas viewers, the sequel's streaming situation is still open. Crunchyroll carried the previous two series, but no overseas platform has been announced for this one yet. That announcement usually lands a few weeks before broadcast, so expect news in December.

The title itself is worth a note. Naming the sequel after both bands, joined by a double slash, suggests the show will keep MyGo!!!!! and Ave Mujica in the same narrative rather than handing the spotlight to one group, which is the harder and more interesting choice. The two groups were built as opposites in tone, and the previous seasons were at their best when that tension had room to play out.

The second teaser adds the premiere date to what the first one showed, and with it the last piece of scheduling information viewers needed for the January season.
