Harajuku Himegoto House Gets a TV Anime With a Full Cast and Staff

Plott has turned Harajuku Himegoto House into a television anime. The company announced the adaptation on Saturday along with a teaser promotional video, a key visual, the main cast and most of the staff. Animate, which is handling promotional cooperation, framed it as a multimedia project rather than a single series.

That means more than an anime. The project includes music releases and live events, with Bandai Namco Music Live's Lantis label providing the music. Plott first teased it on August 3 before launching it officially, and an exclusive voice drama featuring the main cast was available at Animate Girls Festival 2026. The first group song was scheduled to debut on Sunday.

The premise is a bait and switch

Mizuki is an ordinary young man who wants to be the strongest assassin alive. To get there, he travels to Harajuku looking for a hideout said to be frequented by legendary killers. What he finds is a pink cafe staffed by gyaru, gothic lolita types and, in at least one case, a centaur.

So the story is not about the assassin underworld at all. It is about a straight man walking into a room full of eccentrics and staying there. Anime News Network describes the tone as high-tempo gag comedy, which fits a premise that resolves its own menace in the first scene.

Assassin comedy is having a run of it. Happy Kanako's Killer Life is headed for television in April 2027, and the setup there is a different joke entirely, but both pull the same trick: take a job built on violence and staff it with people who cannot be taken seriously.

The cast

Yuuya Hirose plays Mizuki Otokozawa. Tetsuei Sumiya is Mero Togariishi, Souhei Horikane is Takara Rokurokusou, and Masaru Yoshimura is Kentarou Jinbayama. Takuma Nagatsuka voices Yuki Inubou, Nobuhiko Okamoto plays Hitoshi Haritsukekawara, and Shoutarou Morikubo is Shou Dogenzaka.

It is a comedy-heavy lineup. Okamoto and Morikubo in the same cast usually means a show intends to get loud, and Hirose taking the lead after roles like Mato Seihei no Slave makes a change of pace.

Who is making it

Plott is handling planning and production. Akane Aki drew the original character designs and is credited on Paradox Live the Animation, another project built out of music and character art before it was a show. The gyaru, gothic lolita and centaur designs in the key visual are the pitch as much as the plot is.

Why a music-first project makes sense here

Multimedia projects built around songs and character art have become one of the more reliable ways to launch an anime in the past few years, and Harajuku Himegoto House follows that model closely: characters first, music second, anime as the payoff. The risk is that the anime becomes an advertisement for the songs. The upside is that the production has an audience and a soundtrack before episode one airs.

For a gag comedy, that structure has an obvious advantage. Comedy anime live and die on word of mouth in the first three weeks, and a project that already has live events and a voice drama has somewhere to build that word of mouth before the broadcast begins.

What is still missing

No premiere date, no episode count and no broadcast or streaming details have been announced. The project's launch was confirmed and the cast is set; the schedule is not.

Given how the rollout has gone, with the tease in August and the voice drama in the festival window, a 2027 broadcast is the reasonable expectation, but Plott has not said so.
