Killed Again, Mr. Detective? Artist Inaba Launches New Manga in Young Dragon Age

Manga creator Inaba is starting a new series. The November issue of Kadokawa’s Monthly Dragon Age revealed last Friday, October 9, 2026, that Inaba will launch a manga titled Nukedashi ~Renai Kinshi no Koto de Ore wa Ajin Joshi to Chome Chome Suru~, which translates roughly to “Break Free ~Doing This and That With Demi-Human Girls on a Lonely Island Where Romance is Forbidden~.”

The first chapter arrives in this year’s 37th issue of Kadokawa’s Young Dragon Age magazine on October 26.

What Inaba is known for

Inaba drew the manga adaptation of writer Teniwoha and artist Riichu’s Killed Again, Mr. Detective? (Mata Korosarete Shimatta no desu ne, Tantei-sama) light novel series. That adaptation launched on Kadokawa’s Dra Dra Flat manga site in July 2022 and ended with its second compiled volume, which shipped in March 2024.

The title traveled further than the manga. Yen Press published the first volume in English in August 2025, with the second and final volume following on January 20. The original light novels also inspired a television anime that debuted on April 20 this year, and Crunchyroll streamed it as it aired in Japan.

That pattern is worth noting for anyone tracking the new series. Inaba’s previous work was an adaptation of someone else’s story, while Nukedashi looks like an original premise built around a title that spells out its own hook. The long, explanatory title is a familiar style in the light-novel and web-manga space, where a series often tells readers its setup before they open it. The “ajin,” or demi-human, angle in the name also puts the series in a genre that has stayed busy in recent years.

Where it will run

Young Dragon Age is a digital sibling of Monthly Dragon Age, and both sit under Kadokawa. The publisher has used the sister magazine as a place to launch new titles alongside its print lineup. A first chapter in issue 37 puts the series on a late-October schedule, which keeps it clear of the busier January launch window that a lot of new manga aim for.

Kadokawa has not shared a synopsis beyond the title, and no release beyond that first chapter has been detailed.

Why it matters

Kadokawa keeps rotating new series through its Dragon Age brands, and Inaba now has a fresh title in that pipeline. For English readers, though, the track record matters more than the announcement. Killed Again, Mr. Detective? got a full English release and an anime, so Inaba’s name is one that licensors have shown they will follow.

Killed Again, Mr. Detective? also arrived at a useful moment for Inaba. The anime that ran this year put the story in front of viewers who may never have picked up the light novels, and Yen Press kept the manga in print on the English side. That combination gives the new series a name to trade on, even if Kadokawa has said little about it so far. New titles from recognizable creators have been a steady theme lately, from Boat Girl to the latest Jump+ launches.

There is no English release confirmed for Nukedashi at this point, and no volume count or cast has been detailed beyond the title. Readers who want to try the creator’s earlier work can still find Killed Again, Mr. Detective? through Yen Press.
