New Saga Artist Jun Miura Launches Moto Shinryu Manga on Comic Gardo October 8

Jun Miura, the manga artist behind the Tsuyokute New Saga adaptation, is launching a new series. The official X/Twitter account for Overlap’s Comic Gardo manga website announced on Thursday, October 1, 2026, that Miura’s next manga, Moto Shinryū, Chippoke na Ningen ni Tensei Shita Kedo Musō Shimasu — translated as The Divine Dragon Remains Overpowered Despite Reincarnating as a Small Human — will begin on the website on October 8, 2026.

Comic Gardo is a web-first manga platform operated by the publisher Overlap, and the announcement was made through the site’s own social account rather than a print magazine, which has become the standard route for digital-first launches.

What the new manga is about

According to the announcement, the series centers on a boy who awakens to the powers of a dragon and uses that strength to protect his family, framed as a “musō” — or unmatched-strength — adventure tale. The title’s premise leans on a familiar isekai and reincarnation setup: an enormously powerful being reborn into a far smaller human form, with the power intact rather than lost.

That is the extent of the confirmed premise. Overlap has not announced a chapter schedule, a length, or an English release for the new title. Miura’s own promotional post described it as a “musō bōken-tan” — a peerless-adventure story — in which a boy awakens to dragon power to protect his family.

Miura’s Tsuyokute New Saga background

Miura is best known for drawing the manga adaptation of Masayuki Abe’s Tsuyokute New Saga light novel series, which he launched in AlphaPolis in February 2014. The manga ran until July 2023, and AlphaPolis published its 11th and final compiled volume in June 2025. The title is a wordplay on the Japanese term for “replay mode,” and the story follows a hero who is sent back in time to redo a failed quest.

In English, AlphaPolis’ Alpha Manga service publishes the series under the shortened title New Saga. The original novels also inspired a television anime that debuted in July 2025, which Crunchyroll streamed as it aired in Japan. That adaptation gave the property a bigger overseas audience than the manga and novels had managed on their own, and it means Miura’s name now carries more recognition with anime viewers.

Why the Comic Gardo move matters

Comic Gardo gives Overlap a direct digital channel, and it has become a frequent home for both original series and adaptations. Launching a new original work there, rather than through a print magazine, lets a creator publish on a faster and more flexible schedule, and it puts a new title in front of the platform’s existing readership on day one.

For Miura, the October 8 launch is also a chance to work on an original premise after nearly a decade spent adapting another author’s novels. Whether that shift changes the creative approach remains to be seen, but the move from adaptation work to an original series is a meaningful step for a manga artist.

Why it matters for readers

Fans of New Saga who followed the manga through to its conclusion, or who came in through the 2025 anime, now have a concrete next series from its artist with a confirmed date: October 8. There is no English simulpub or overseas release confirmed yet, so readers outside Japan will likely have to wait for an announcement.

Creator-driven new launches have been a recurring theme this month, including Dungeon Farm artist Mozukuzu’s new isekai series in Dengeki Daioh G and the Magilumiere and Ya Boy Kongming! creators teaming up for Boat Girl. We will update this story if Overlap confirms scheduling or an English release.
