Romelia War Chronicle Part 2 Sets April 2027 Premiere, Hiro Shimono on Ending Song

The Romelia War Chronicle anime has a date for its second half. The show’s staff announced on October 31 that the second cours will premiere in April 2027, and that Hiro Shimono is performing the ending theme for it.

The series is airing under a title almost nobody says out loud in full: Romelia War Chronicle: Even After Defeating the Demon King, Humanity Still Seems Doomed, So I Formed a Military Force. The Japanese short form is Romelia Senki, and that is what most listings use.

How the broadcast is laid out

Romelia War Chronicle premiered first on Japanese streaming on October 3 at 9:00 p.m., on U-NEXT, Anime Times and Netflix, two days before it reached television. The TV run started October 5 at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, BS11, Sun TV and KBS Kyoto.

It is a two-cours show, and the April 2027 date confirms it is a split run rather than a continuous one. That is now the standard shape for a certain tier of light novel adaptation: two quarters of episodes, a gap of a few months in between, and a new ending theme to sell in the second half. Though I Am an Inept Villainess is running the same play with a January 2027 return. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired.

For anyone outside Japan, the split has a practical consequence. The break lands in the middle of the story rather than at a natural stopping point, so the second part has to re-earn attention in spring instead of carrying momentum through the winter. That is a real risk, and it is one the ending theme is partly there to offset.

The light novel behind it

Ryō Ariyama’s novels began as a web serial on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2019 before Shogakukan picked them up for the Gagaga Bunko imprint. The series is finished: it closed at six volumes in November 2025, and it has more than 550,000 copies in circulation.

Kodama illustrated the first volume, with Ryō Kamito taking over art duties from volume two through volume six. Ryō Kamito also draws the manga adaptation, which launched on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi platform in January 2022. Seven Seas licensed that manga in English and released the third volume on August 11.

The publisher’s description of the manga sets up the premise plainly. Rome has to build an army of her own and hold a kingdom together on wits alone. An adaptation that starts after the demon king has already been defeated is a harder sell than it sounds, because the obvious victory is gone and what is left is politics, logistics and a population that still expects to die.

What the second half has to do

The first cours spent its time establishing Rome’s position and the size of the problem. The second has to pay that off, and April gives the production a full quarter to do it in without competing against the autumn slate it launched into.

Hiro Shimono takes the ending theme. He is better known abroad as a voice actor, and a war story with a large cast needs an ending that lands on the people rather than the battles. Whether this one does that is something nobody will know until April.

April 2027 is the date. The announcement did not include an episode count for the second cours, an opening theme artist, or any change to how the series is streaming outside Japan.
