Titan Manga has picked up five more series, all scheduled for English release between May and August 2027. The publisher announced the batch on Thursday, covering a supernatural comedy, a fantasy academy story, a reality-show romance, a rock band drama and a quiet story about a burned-out artist and a mountain deity.
The five titles:
Kuruno Loves the Occult! by Kusada, out June 29. A high schooler named Yuuki gets contacted online by a girl obsessed with the supernatural and dragged along on investigations, from Kisaragi Station to chupacabra sightings and haunted houses. The hook is that Kuruno is terrified of the subject she cannot leave alone.
Dominating at the Academy of Returned Heroes, from Chiaki Konno and artist Fame, out July 20. A hero comes home from a war in another world, trained by a demon king, and gets enrolled in a school where students who returned from other worlds compete for rank. He is stronger than everyone there, which is the joke and the plot.
The Limits of High-Spec Marriages (High Spec Kon ni mo Hodo ga Aru) by Susano Hara and artist Nanao, out May 4. Thirteen exceptional people are put on a reality show meant to produce the perfect marriage, and every date turns into a contest of egos.
Revenge of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Sisters (Maria’s: Revenge of Rock’n’Roll Sisters), written by Hiroki Muramatsu with art by Yoshio Kawashima, out August 3. A former children’s TV band guitarist, now a single mother working at a supermarket, sets out to start a band again and finds a singer with the voice she has been looking for.
Mountain God’s Personal Manga Artist by Rei Yamada, out May 2. A manga artist retreats to the countryside, meets a local deity who wants to be entertained with stories, and slowly recovers from creative burnout.
What the lineup says about Titan’s 2027
The spread is wide, and that looks deliberate. The one title in a proven commercial lane is Dominating at the Academy of Returned Heroes, an otherworld-return story set in a school, which is the shape of half the fantasy manga market right now. Titan is pitching it as comedy rather than power fantasy, and the premise only works if the overpowered lead is funny instead of aspirational.
The rest are harder to place, which is probably the point. A retired rocker story, a reality-dating satire and a gentle supernatural slice-of-life do not share an audience, and releasing them all within four months means Titan is testing several shelves at once rather than building one.
Kuruno Loves the Occult! looks like the safest bet of the group. Supernatural comedy with a scared protagonist is an easy pitch, and the title does most of the work on a shelf.
Dates to put in a calendar
May 2 for Mountain God’s Personal Manga Artist, May 4 for The Limits of High-Spec Marriages, June 29 for Kuruno Loves the Occult!, July 20 for Dominating at the Academy of Returned Heroes, and August 3 for Revenge of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Sisters. Those are the publisher’s stated dates, and Titan’s schedule has moved before, so treat the later ones as provisional until pre-orders appear.
Worth noting that the announcement lists no volumes, page counts or formats. Whether these arrive as single volumes or as digital-first launches is not stated, and for a mid-size publisher that detail usually shows up closer to release.
Where this fits
Titan is not the only publisher stacking 2027. Yen Press came out of MCM London with ten titles, six of them new manga, and Kodansha USA used its Print Club slate to announce ten licenses of its own. The licensing calendar has been crowded since the summer, and the effect on readers is straightforward: more choice, shorter print runs, and a stronger case for pre-ordering anything you actually want.
If you want to compare tactics, Seven Seas has been announcing in larger batches all year, which spreads the risk but buries individual titles.
For anyone building a 2027 reading list, the practical move is to watch which of these five gets a second volume announcement. That is the signal a license is performing, and it usually arrives six to nine months after the first book.
