The artist behind Battle Royale: Enforcers has a new series, and it is trading a death game for the undead. Hero’s Inc.’s HERO’S Web announced on September 16, 2026, that Yukai Asada will launch a new manga titled Zombie Dakedo Shitsumon Aru? (I’m a Zombie, Any Questions?) on the platform, and it debuts on September 29.
The announcement came two weeks before release, giving the platform a lead-up window for the new title.
What the new manga is about
Zombie Dakedo Shitsumon Aru? is set in a post-apocalyptic Japan where a lifespan-extending drug triggers a zombie epidemic. In that landscape, two characters anchor the story: Mina, a high school student, and Haru, a breakdancing vlogger who becomes a half-zombie. The pair begin a desperate fight to escape.
The premise mixes a familiar outbreak setup with a lighter hook in Haru’s half-zombie status, which suggests the series will lean on comedy and action rather than pure horror. It arrives on HERO’S Web, the web manga platform run by Hero’s Inc., the company behind the announcement.
Two leads with different skills — a student and a vlogger who is neither fully alive nor fully gone — point toward a road-trip structure: two survivors trying to get out rather than a large ensemble fighting a war. The drug that causes the outbreak also gives the story its thematic edge, since the epidemic begins with something meant to extend life.
Who is Yukai Asada
Asada is best known for Battle Royale III: Enforcers, a manga based on Koushun Takami’s Battle Royale franchise. Asada launched that series in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Young Champion magazine in February 2022. Akita Publishing shipped the fifth compiled volume in June 2025, and Viz Media publishes the series in English, having released the fifth volume on May 19, 2026.
That makes Zombie Dakedo Shitsumon Aru? a move from an established action-horror franchise into an original story, on a digital-first platform rather than a print magazine. The Japanese run of Enforcers sits at five volumes, and with Viz’s English edition trailing only slightly behind, Asada’s name is already in front of both domestic and overseas readers.
