Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 3 Streams on Crunchyroll From January 2027

Crunchyroll will stream Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 3 from January 2027, the company announced on Wednesday. The season's full title is Mashle: Magic and Muscles – Tri-Magicathalon Divine Visionary Final Exam Arc.

The stream covers everywhere except Japan and China, with a non-exclusive window in Southeast Asia and exclusive rights in India. Crunchyroll carried the first two seasons the same way, subs and English dubs both, so nothing about this rollout is unusual.

Who is making it

A-1 Pictures is back. Tomoya Tanaka directs, Yosuke Kuroda handles series composition, and Masaru Yokoyama returns to compose. The one change in the core team is character design, where Chiaki Furuzumi replaces Hisashi Higashijima. Furuzumi was chief animation director and sub-character designer on both seasons of Solo Leveling, which says something about how the action is likely to be handled.

No cast list came with the announcement. Crunchyroll also left out a specific date inside January, an episode count and the theme song, so those stay open for now.

The premise has not moved

Mash Burnedead lives in a world where magic runs everything and he has none of it. He trains his body instead, and when his secret gets out he enrolls at Easton Magic Academy with one plan: become a Divine Visionary on muscle alone. That is the joke the series has run on since 2023, and the new subtitle says the exam is finally the subject.

Each season so far has run 12 episodes. Season 1 aired in Japan in April 2023, Season 2 in January 2024, both on Crunchyroll with dubs. The gap to Season 3 is close to three years, which is a long wait for a Jump adaptation that was doing well.

The manga is already finished

Hajime Komoto's manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from January 2020 to July 2023. Shueisha shipped the 18th and final volume, plus a fanbook, in October 2023. Viz Media publishes the print edition in English, and both Shueisha's Manga Plus and Viz's Shonen Jump service ran it digitally.

The anime project is listed as a complete adaptation of the manga, which means the intent is to finish the story rather than stop wherever a season happens to land. If that holds, Season 3 will not be the last word on Mash.

There is more Mashle around than most people remember: several novels, two stage plays, and Mashle: Muscle Puzzle, a smartphone puzzle game that launched in April 2025.

Why the timing makes sense for Crunchyroll

January is turning into a sequel month. The same window already holds One-Punch Man Season 3 Part 2 and a stack of new shows, and Crunchyroll is announcing its winter slate piece by piece. Getting the Mashle pickup out in late October, before the season starts, is standard practice for a title this size.

Mashle also travels well. The comedy is broad, the fights are short, and nothing in the premise needs a viewer to know a decade of continuity. That makes it an easy recommendation for people who watch dubs and drop shows fast, which is the audience a streaming service cares about most.

The flip side is that three years is long enough for a fandom to soften. A well-timed trailer and a firm date will do more for this season than any licensing headline, and Crunchyroll has not given either yet.

Where to start

If you have never watched, start at the beginning: Season 1, then Season 2, 12 episodes each, both dubbed on Crunchyroll. The Blu-ray situation is worth checking too, since MediaOCD's Aniplex Blu-ray deal includes Mashle in its first batch.

Nothing else is confirmed. No date inside January, no cast additions, no word on whether the season runs one cour or two. We will update this page when Crunchyroll narrows the window.
